Alexander Kots (1880 - 1964) - the founder and the first Director of the museum from 1907 to 1964.

Vera Ignatieva (1904 - 1991) - the second Director of the museum from 1964 to 1986.

Svetlana Kuleshova - Director of the museum from 1986 to 1988.
